On Page SEO And Off Page SEO – Do You Know The Difference?
On April 27, 2022 by adminYou may often hear the phrases on page SEO and off page SEO. Do you know what they refer too? I often read posts which seem to confuse the two. Here is a very brief run down of both on page and off page SEO.
On Page SEO
On page SEO refers to any activities you undertake on the actual page of your web site. Writing keyword optimized content, page titles, URL’s, meta tags, internal linking, external links (outbound), optimizing graphics and web page design are just some of the areas that need addressing. These are all on page SEO strategies
Off Page SEO
If on page SEO refers to all activities on a page, off page SEO must therefore address all the activities you can do in other areas, not on your web page.
The are countless off page SEO activities. These include external link building (inbound links), social media marketing, blogging, article marketing, directory listings, local search listing and both online and offline marketing.
Is one more important than the other. It’s debatable. On page SEO is important, but the bottom line is whether or not your page(s) do the job when a visitor arrives. You could have a well optimized page that visitors don’t like and leave as soon as they arrive.
When it comes to building a web presence, there are a lot of factors that need addressing. User experience is important and so to is on page SEO. Off page SEO is the one area that probably influences the search engines most when it comes to credibility. In practice, all three (user experience included) are of equal importance and need to be well planned and well executed. Get all three to work together and you will have a successful web site.
